Ravensara - Rare Oil from Madagascar

So last night I was on YouTube at 2 am learning about undiscovered essential oils and
herbs (as I always do) and came across an interesting new tree I’ve never chanced upon before.
It’s called the RAVENSARA tree and is found only in Madagascar. As a raven hybrid soul, my mystical tail feathers perked up and I was instantly drawn in by the vast branches and how the tree looked in the photographs; it was so similar to some trees I’ve grown up around here in Bangalore, South India
Gosh, everything is so connected.
So I dove into the story behind the tree and how they extract it (from the leaves) and found myself in a King Julian sized rabbit hole. Basically, Ravensara oil is distilled from the leaves of the tree growing in the humid evergreen forests of Madagascar and has a clean, lightly camphoracious note. Thusly, it is compared to camphor, eucalyptus with fruity notes — and some refer to it as clove nutmeg. Interesting.
Its botanical name is Ravensara aromatica, it belongs to Lauracae (laurel) family and the oil is extracted via steam distillation. In Madagascar, its referred to as the “oil that heals” and has been used for centuries as a tonic and for fighting infections. The health benefits of Ravensara essential oil can be attributed to its properties as an analgesic, anti-allergenic, antibacterial, antimicrobial, antidepressant, antifungal, antiseptic, antispasmodic, antiviral, aphrodisiac, disinfectant, diuretic, expectorant, relaxant, and tonic substance.
That’s an extensive list… I was sold.
Also, she’s so pretty. And dainty. And yet potent and badass.
I MUST smell this for myself, I thought - but how? I’m in an entirely different part of the world. After putting my herbal detective skills to the task for a few hours I uncovered one decent-ish source in India itself (much to my surpise) and ordered a bottle stat.
Here it is, incase you'd like to give it a whiff:

Ravensara oil can be an effective mood enhancer and can give your mood a lift. This oil is very good for countering depression and giving a boost to positive thoughts and feelings of hope. Bear in mind, Ravensara essential oil is not the same as Ravintsara oil. Though both originate in Madagascar and have strikingly similar names, they are very different. Remember this when if you're sourcing it.
Waiting for mine patiently. Shall update you guys about it soon.
Love and Magick,
Raven
